The Lagos State Police Command has taken swift action against Oladimeji Ahmed, the 48-year-old chairman of the Ikeja Tricycle Riders Association, for his involvement in a violent altercation with a police officer. The incident occurred at Computer Village in Ikeja on Friday, August 9, 2024, at around 6:00 pm.
According to police spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin, Ahmed assaulted an Inspector of Police who was attempting to impound a motorcycle and arrest the rider for obstructing traffic. The incident was captured in a widely shared video, prompting Hundeyin to announce Ahmed’s arrest via Twitter.
“Oladimeji Ahmed, aged 48, Ikeja Chairman of Tricycle Riders Association, has been arrested for serious assault on a police officer,” Hundeyin tweeted. The police are currently investigating the matter, and Ahmed will face justice for his actions.
