Business magnate Aliko Dangote has announced that petrol from his 650,000-barrel-per-day refinery will hit the market within the next 48 hours.
Speaking at a press briefing on Tuesday, Dangote revealed that the product’s release is contingent on finalizing arrangements with the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).
“Our PMS (Premium Motor Spirit) can be in filling stations within the next 48 hours, depending on NNPCL,” he stated.
Regarding pricing, Dangote explained that it is an arrangement approved by the Federal Executive Council, led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“As soon as it is finalized, which he (Tinubu) is pushing, once we finish with NNPC, it can be today, it can be tomorrow, we are ready to roll into the market,” Dangote added.
The business mogul assured Nigerians of the high quality of petrol from his refinery, stating that it will match global standards.
“You will have good petrol, and the engines of your vehicles will last longer. You will not have engine issues… The quality here will match that of anywhere in the world; US, America, we will make sure that nobody will beat us in terms of quality.”
Dangote’s refinery is expected to alleviate Nigeria’s fuel scarcity crisis and provide premium quality petrol to the market.
