The Executive Chairman of Ibadan Northeast local government, Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo, has described a former Governor of Oyo State, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, as an exemplary traditional ruler as he marks his 80th birthday today.
The Council Chairman stated this in a congratulatory message to Oba Ladoja whom he identified as a father and a reputable leader.
In a release issued and made available to journalists in the early hours of today, Akintayo affirmed that the birthday of Oba Ladoja is worthy of celebration as a traditional leader and an elder statesman not only in Oyo State but in the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The Ibadan Northeast Council Chairman stated: “ On behalf of the good people and residents of Ibadan Northeast Local Government, I express my unalloyed gratitude to the God Almighty for spearing the life of Oba Oju Opo, Rashidi Ladoja, on the auspicious occasion of his 80th birthday.
Oba Ladoja is indeed a worthy son and ambassador of Ibadanland, and we are proud of him and his noble achievements in his eight decades on earth. We recognize, celebrate, and salute his service to Ibadanland and, indeed, the state.
Akintayo further appreciated Oba Ladoja’s love for peace and unity in Ibadanland and Oyo state and commended him for his contribution and commitment to the promotion and preservation of Ibadan cultural heritage.
“My prayer is that the Almighty will give our father, Oba Oju Opo, Rashidi Ladoja many more years in good health and wealth to continue in service to humanity.”
