The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has announced the birth of a baby boy with his wife, Olori Ashley Folasade Ogunwusi.
In an Instagram post on Tuesday, the monarch shared the joyful news, stating that mother and child are doing well.
“Congratulations to the entire House of Oduduwa and Olori Folashade, who today birthed a Prince from the mother side of Ooni Adagba Royal Compound of Lafogido Ruling House and father side of Ooni Agbedegbede Royal Compound of Giesi Ruling house combined to the Royal throne of Oduduwa,” he said.
Olori Folasade also shared details on her Instagram page, revealing that the baby boy was born at Princess Royal Hospital, London, United Kingdom, on September 3, 2024.
“…I am happy to re-announce with my husband @ooniadimulaife the birth of our adorable prestigious royal son to the throne of our forebears, our CROWN PRINCE of the source of Oodua who we were blessed with and was born into this world today…” she said.
The queen also shared her personal story, disclosing that she had a miscarriage of twins at 14 weeks last year.
“Last year was a little dark as our set of twins gained their wings at 14 weeks, but Olodumare remained faithful… He said What you need is a son to carry your forbears lineage, a double CROWN PRINCE, now he has blessed us with our gorgeous son…” Olori Folasade said.
This is Oba Ogunwusi’s fourth marriage, having married Olori Folasade in October 2022. The baby boy’s arrival comes months after the king welcomed a set of twins with Olori Tobi.
