Some NNPC filling stations in Ibadan, Lagos, and Abuja have adjusted their pump prices, selling fuel between ₦865 and ₦897 per litre, up from the previous price of ₦568.

Observations on Tuesday morning revealed that NNPC retail stations in:

– Ibadan: ₦865-₦897

– Lagos: ₦865-₦897

– Abuja: ₦865-₦897

displayed prices ranging from ₦865 to ₦897. Specifically:

– Alausa NNPC station (Lagos): ₦865

– Other stations (Ibadan and Lagos): ₦868 and ₦897

This development comes amidst persistent fuel queues in major cities, leaving Nigerians struggling to access fuel.

The NNPC recently acknowledged owing over $8 billion, fueling speculation about a potential increase in fuel prices. As the official regulator of fuel prices in Nigeria, any price adjustment by NNPC typically sets the tone for other filling stations.

The sudden price hike has sparked concerns among Nigerians, exacerbating the existing fuel scarcity crisis.
