A retail community pharmaceutical company, Vanguard Pharmacy Limited has pledged to offer free medical services to all the participants in the Kayromlee Squash Tournament, organised as part of activities to mark the 13th anniversary of Kayromlee Gym and Fitness Centre, Obafemi Awolowo Stadium Ibadan.

The Squash tournament scheduled for 8th to 10th December, 2022 at the indoor squash hall of Obafemi Awolowo Stadium will also have the former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo as one of the participants in an exhibition game.

The Management of Vanguard Pharmacy expressed delight to be part of the competition because the game of squash has famously been dubbed ‘the world’s healthiest sport’, hence will be in-charge of the first aid and other medical needs of every participant during the tourney.

“Our vision is to transform pharmacy practice through efficient and innovative delivery of quality products and services that benefit the general public, and supporting sports is part of our corporate social responsibility (CSR) policy.

“According to a recent report by the World Health Organisation, physical activity drastically improves general health and reduces the risk of certain diseases. In short, we should all do more sport so why not choose the healthiest one out there”, Vanguard Pharmacy management noted.

The Under-16 Squash Tournament according to the CEO of Kayromlee Gym, Amb. Romoke Ayinde JP is put together to scout for talents from the grassroots, especially from the secondary schools in Ibadan because the game of squash is for everybody and can be played at any age, while it is easy to learn.

“Squash can be played at any age. It is easy to learn, but difficult to master. Furthermore, play styles, games and equipment can be modified to suit every size, gender and skill-level, as research has proven that racket sports improve children’s sociability, motor skills, eyesight and much more”, said Amb. Romoke Ayinde, the chief host of the tournament.
